5 Tips to Get Your Child Interested in the Bible
Read the bible with your child
Just like reading regular books can get your child more interested in reading, reading the bible together has the same effect. Take the time to read the bible with your child every day. This will help your child grow a love for reading the bible and a deeper love for God’s word.
Make the stories relatable
Opening up to a random story that has nothing to do with your child’s age can be difficult for them. It’s important to introduce all bible stories to younger children, but they won’t always stay engaged. Find bible stories that relate to what your child is going through at that time.
Get a bible that’s age appropriate
There’s a huge market out there for bibles because there are so many different versions. Everyone interprets the various versions of the bible different. A great tool out there for your child is to introduce them to a children’s bible. There are tons of children’s bibles out there; you just have to choose one that’s right for your child.
Talk about what happens in the bible
Reading the bible is one thing, but understanding what’s happening in the bible is another thing. It’s important to talk about what’s happening in the bible story that you’re reading with your child. Comprehension plays a big part in how kids interpret the story and apply it to their own lives.
Make it a family thing
If you are trying to get your child more interested in the bible, then make it a family thing. Everyone in the family can sit down together for family devotions. Take time reading scripture out of the bible, singing praise songs, and even talking about what went on in the bible story.
