If your a regular on the blog then you know I'm a #girlmom. That's why I teamed up with Always® to bring you this post. It's an important thing they are doing and I wanted to help put a spotlight on it!
Always® & Walmart® Partner to Encourage Local Bentonville Girls’ to Keep Playing
Many of you may remember how Always recently released the Always® #LikeAGirl – Keep Playing. They want girls to feel confident! It’s been studied that girls who participate in sports, actually have higher self-confidence. However, with that exciting data, there are also many girls who quit playing. Some don’t feel encouraged and others don’t have the support they need to keep going. Always took this information and did something about it.
The end goal: keep girls in sports! Always has partnered with Walmart to make this a reality. Basically, together, Walmart and Always will be able to provide resources to teams around the country to keep girls in sports. The Always #LikeAGirl – Keep Playing initiative, the “50 States, 50 Teams” program will support one girl's team in every state. You guessed it, by the end of the year, Always and Walmart will have helped FIFTY teams!
First Team Transformation
This summer, this initiative headed to Hulbert, Oklahoma. Always and Walmart met up with a junior high team known as the Lady Riders. They are a junior high team with so much spirit and potential. The team got to tell Always and Walmart about their experiences in sports. Of course, the team was empowered! Always and Walmart provided the team with equipment, uniforms, and even facility upgrades. You can actually watch the entire video here.
Always and Walmart are working hard to make a difference in the lives of women. This is no ordinary partnership. #LikeAGirl is doing amazing things. Just imagine at the end of the year, when this initiative has reached the 50 teams.
