You can make your own ornament using just a few dollars worth of supplies, and when you are done you can hang your ornament all year and show your support. Here is how you can make your own! Supplies needed: Assorted Puzzle pieces (Buy a puzzle at the dollar store or from the thrift store) Foam paint brush Red, teal, blue, and yellow craft paint Scissors Craft glue or hot glue, glue gun Twine or ribbon Directions:
1. Begin by painting the puzzle pieces. Lay them cardboard side up (not print side) and apply two coats of paint to each. Use the various colors so you have several in each color.
2. Once your puzzle pieces are dry, you can begin gluing them into the heart shape. Try arranging them into a heart before adding glue to you can perfect the shape. Once you have the shape, you can add dabs of glue and start pressing the pieces together. Just add a little glue on the back of each and press into shape.
3. When your heart is complete and dry, cut a length of twine, ribbon, or string. Run it through the puzzle pieces and tie into a knot or bow.
Your Autism Awareness heart ornament is now ready to be used! Use it during the holidays or display it all year to show your support for those with Autism.
